Lost in Bondi beach…

After having such a wonderful rice paper roll at misschu at Master chef live, all I want to do was eating at misschu.

When I see the menu card, I found misschu in Bondi beach!

I was so exited and drove in a hurry then…

found out

NOT OPENED  YET!!!!!

Even though I live near Bondi beach, I hardly ever go there to eat. Long time no see, then found a change there. A new fancy looking building where misschu restaurant will be is under construction in Bondi beach.

Since we found a fabulous parking spot, we didn’t want to move, so went to Pompei, the lovely pizza place…then found out

CLOSED!!!!!!

Then we went to Gelbison, another pizzeria but looked too busy….didn’t want to wait anymore…I was absolutely starving!!!!

then decided to go Moo burger because I knew it has three kind of veggie burgers.

I like Moo burger because I can choose the bun.

light sour dough, multigrain, gluten free bun. We both choose multi grain bun.

Also good amount of veggies plus all home made patty and sauces.

We ordered…

Red kidney bean burger $12.5

Spicy red kidney bean and mushroom patty, mixed lettuce, tomato, eggplant, home made mayo and tomato relish.

I was inspired to make kidney bean burger after eating this a while ago, I made even better (? ) recipe…check this out if you are interested in

Lentil burger $12.5 + hot chips $3.5

lentil, walnut, fresh herb and garlic patty , rocket, sliced avocado, cucumber, home-made aioli and chilli jam

It is the first time to eat this burger. For me, this burger is too sweet. Chilli jam is very sweet and patty was kind of sweet, too. I am sure people like sweet will like it.

The burger, especially bun is huge so after eating so quickly ( because I was starving ) I felt bloated or choked…

better not wait until starving….

kindey bean & almond burger ( gluten free )

This burger is very very nutritious! and tasty. Even non vegetarian people like this burger.

It contains kidney beans, almonds, flaxseed….high in protein, iron and omega3!

Ingredietns

30ml olive oil

2 onion, chopped finely

2 garlic cloves, chopped finely

2 tsp ground cumin

2 tsp ground coriander

1/2 tsp turmeric

200g mushroom, chopped

700g cooked kidney beans, mushed lightly with fork

100g almond, roasted and chopped

4TBSP fresh coriander, chopped

100g gluten free bread crumb

2 TBSP sweet chilli sauce

2 tsp salt

2 TBSP flaxseed ( optional )

pepper to taste

method

  1. Heat oil and cook onion and garlic until soft. Add spiced and cook for 2 mins.
  2. Add mushrooms and cook over low heat until they are soft but dry.
  3. Add mushed beans, almond, coriander, bread crumbs, chilli sauce, salt and pepper and mix well.
  4. Place the mixture into bowl and cool down.
  5. Make patties and fry each side until golden

Today, I serve the burger with avocado, haloumi cheese and salsa. You can serve with simply lettuce and tomato sauce, no problem! add fried egg is nice as week.

Oh, mayo is also great to go with.

If you are vegan, simply eat with patty, salad leaf and your favourite sauce.

I made ” raw” salsa with fresh tomato, capsicum, chilli and paprika. oh, I added tomato puree so it is not 100% raw..YES, I use my powerful blender vita mix!

It does need a lots of work, so please make big amount and freeze! It freezes well.
