Hiro farmer’s market - 2

Here are what I bought in the market…

start from various smoothies

blueberry, coconut and mango. well, it wasn’t the best choice since it was frozen so I don’t know when it was made..could be a month ago. damn! but taste was nice.

Since coconut one is so ” coconut”, I add to some into blueberry and some into mango, then it was nice :)

and ready to eat food since we were after lunch!

avocado and veggie rice roll with peanut sauce and sweet chilli sauce, well not too bad. very healthy for sure cos it was all raw!

vegetarian Enchilada

filled with black beans :P

And more food…these are the best taste and value! they are all organic and only $3.5 each and very tasty and healthy!

potato salad $3.5

purple Okinawan sweet potato, celery, mayonnaise, green onions, dill weeds, spices, salt.

Okinawa is southern island of Japan. I don’t know why okinawan here but I found Hawaii quite similar to Okinawa, maybe similar climate that is why grow Okinawan potato well in Hawaii. who knows. It was delicious

Potato masala $3.5

Potatoes, red and yellow onion, lime juice, oil, cilanto, curry leaf, spices, urad dal, salt

yummy Indian. well, MR potato lover ate most of it….he is Irish.

Quinoa wakame salad $3.5

quinoa, sunflower seeds, long rice flake, sesame, parsley, onion, ginger, wakame, shiitake, edamame, soy sauce, rice vinegar, white pepper, sugar, lime, flax

This is my favourite since it tastes Japanese… seriously, it is important! I can’t live without Japanese food..so I ate this the most :)

Pumpkin dahl $3.5

chickpea, red lentil, pumpkin, onion, carrot, curry leaf, oil, ginger, spices, salt.

very generous with curry leaf! again, very nice!

And bread for later…well, I must say this wasn’t my favourite bread…I think it was baked the day before or something..

guava jam

It is very unusual! but it was too sweet for me

And veggies and fruits which was soooo cheap.

Tomato smells the same tomato that I ate at grand parent’s place when I was little ( They lived the least populated city in Japan and had veggie farm, I presume, it was organic veggie farm ) 5 small organic tomato was $2 or something very cheap!

one organic avocado was $1…so good. when I open, it was full of water inside. I can tell, they are so damn fresh!

made toast with tomato and avocado next day:)

one bag of carrot was also $1. It was good snack while I get hungry in the car…

Funny one was ” boiled” peanuts. I am so used to roasted one so, it was interesting texture.

but the best of the best, I mean BEST! taste and value was paw paw.

5 paw paw was only $1 ! I could not believe it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Compare to waikiki, all food were much much cheaper!

Here is the fruit plate that I made next morning. we really enjoyed paw paw and it was soooooo good to eat with passion fruits. I put on top of paw paw. They look like seeds of paw paw but they are passion fruits! It was HEAVEN

You think we bought too much?

Actually I think my boy friend was little annoyed with me since I never stopped shopping but it was really good.

At that night, we stayed B&B near hot spring by the sea which is not so touristy place so no restaurants around…it was middle of nowhere kind of place so it was good that we had some food!!!!!!
